The typical home computer consists of a Monitor, a Mouse and the
computer itself. The computer itself or box
as I call it, could be a desk top, tower, mini tower or maybe even a
laptop. The important thing is that you understand the real work being
done is inside the box.
The box will house some extras as well usually a CD-Rom or DVD, a
Floppy drive, a Sound card, a Network card and possibly a Modem. If you
don't know what all of these things are it's ok for now. We can review
the Computer Terms section together later to find out what all the
terms or names mean. These basic computer lessons are just the
beginning, later we will discuss more advanced topics.
The
computer mouse in it's most basic form has a left and right
button and
usually a little wheel called a scroll wheel.
So
now you can left click, right click, double click, click and drag,
click and hold click click and more click. Easy isn't it? Your keyboard
is where you do your typing some people have excellent typing skills
and others have two finger typing skills all it means is one finishes
before the other. Here
is some information on
using your keyboard.
Lets look at
how we can control the program-windows that
show up on our desktop when
we start a program.
Your
doing great so far, Now that you know how to use your mouse and your
keyboard lets go a bit deeper into the computer. The Explorer program
is a file manager. Think of
it
like a filing cabinet with file folders.
We have all at one time or another lost a file I'm going to show you
how to find that file you lost. Basic
computer lessons would not be complete without looking at the Windows
Search function.
Hi
it's nice to have you back again, now you know how to find anything
your looking for on your computer. Basic Computer lessons really help
the
novice or beginner computer user to understand how to go about using
their new found technology. Computer tutorials are the best learning
tool if they are available. Anyone taking basic computer lessons needs
to know how to use a word processor. Let's
go have some fun with a word processor.
Welcome back, e-mail is the easiest way of keeping in touch with all
the people you know. What use to take a week or more to get delivered
can now be delivered in seconds or minutes. Many people have a
difficult time using e-mail after the initial sending of one. Here we
will do an e-mail tutorial and see if some e-mail help will let you
better understand all of it. So without wasting anymore time e-mail here we come. There
is so much to do in e-mail so let's have a part 2, a part3 and
finally a part4.
