Did you know
your computer history holds a wealth of information about where it has
been. First open Internet Explorer. Internet explorer 6 will look like
the picture below.

To bring up the history pane in IE6 click on the button I have
highlighted or press CTRL + h on your keyboard together. Below is a
picture of IE 7.

As you can see the history pane is already showing if it is
not click tools and from the drop down choose toolbars and then from
the flyout choose history or on your keyboard press CTRL + SHIFT + h.
In the history pane you will see a folder called today, there
should also be other folders there named last week, 2 weeks ago etc.
Left click on one of these folders it will expand and show what looks
like folders with a name beside each and beside the name in
brackets the web address.
This view shows you every web site visited on that particular day or
week. If you click on one of these folders they will expand and they
will look something like the picture below.

These are the individual pages or links that were visited at
that web
site. If
you click on a page Internet explorer will take you to that page so you
can see the page yourself. This is a very good way of seeing what
sights your computer has visited.
Note:
If there are no folders listed in your internet history
someone has deleted the computer history information. This information
does not disappear on it's own it has to be intentionally deleted. This
tells you someone is trying to hide their internet surfing tracks. You
may want to think about tracking software.
If this has been deleted do not worry there is a way to still find out
where your computer has been. There are hidden files on your computer
that hold just as much information for you.
Lets look at the hidden
files.
