hidden computer history

Your computer has a hidden computer history most people don't know about. Even if someone has deleted their internet history there is still a way to examine where they have been. Microsoft for some reason keeps a hidden copy of where your computer has been. We will now look at these hidden files and using a bit of time you can see where your computer has been.

Click on the start button and then click on Run when the run menu opens type in the box %temp% like the picture below shows.

Press the OK button and the screen below pops up.

In this window go to the top of the page and click on the folder icon with the green arrow on it indicating to go up one level. The picture below appears.

Now find the Temporary Internet Files folder and double click on it. This is where the hidden computer history files are kept. You should now see a window like the picture below.

Now double click on Content.IE5 you may get a warning like the one shown below.

just click yes it's ok. Now you will see a window like the one shown below.

These are all the folders that hold the computer history information your looking for. Double click on any of them and you will see a screen similar to the picture below.
run files
In these folders you will find all kinds of files. Some of the folders may be empty others with file types you have never seen before. It's ok make sure to scroll thru all the folders and files. When you see a .doc, .txt you can open them with note pad. When you see .html, .htm you can open them with internet explorer and when you see .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .png these are all graphic files right click on them and choose preview to see the picture.

These hidden computer history text, web and graphic files should be more than enough to tell you where your computer has been. If the person using your computer is smart enough to erase these hidden computer files there is still another place to find what you need. At this point you will want to think about tracking software.
