Parents
Are Not Spectators.
Net wise parents are an active well informed force in their kid's
internet safety.
Let me tell you a story.
A few years ago when my son, Brady was 8 years old he had a project to
do for school. He wanted to use the computer to find some information.
Great I thought. Brady is really starting to like computers.
So I asked "Do you know how to search for the information you need?" he
said yes that he had been taught at school. Brady had to search for the
name Hancock.
So off Brady went and his little sister followed him as little sisters
do. Not 10 minutes later did Brady's little sister come running to us
saying she saw pictures of girls s****** on boys P****. I couldn't
believe it I went downstairs and there was my son looking at hardcore
pornography.
The story above is real and I'm sure it's a story that happens all the
time. That incident made me realize I could no longer be a spectator if
I was to keep my children safe online. My children's internet safety
was of major importance but how was I going to keep them safe?
It was at that moment I realized I had to learn all that I could about
internet safety. I read books, I searched online, I learned internet
safety rules, I took basic computer lessons, I learned everything I
could to protect my children and become a net wise parent.
It doesn't matter if you're a Mom, Dad or a Grandparent. If you need to
keep your kids or grandkids or even yourself safe online, you need to
be an active well informed force to deal with it. Net Wise Parents is a
collection of "how to" articles and tutorials from the most basic of
computer tasks, to monitoring what sites your kids are allowed to visit
and blocking those sites that are not allowed. Learn internet safety
rules to implement in your household whether there is a problem or not.
Does it sound to hard? Do you think your to old to learn? I know, You
don't have enough time to learn all that stuff right? NAH !! It's easy,
do one thing at a time until you understand it and then move onto the
next. When there is nothing on TV come on in and learn a little. When
it's raining outside pop in, try something new.
Basic computer lessons are thee single most important lessons you will
ever learn when it comes to computers. Come with me and explore
the

I don't think there is a more difficult time in a parents life then
when their children are teenagers. They are constantly on the move
growing, learning and doing and the worst part of it. They want to do
it all by themselves. That independence thing really hurts especially
when your told no Mom/Dad I want to do it myself.
This is a perfectly natural part of life and every parent from the day
their kids are born know that day is coming. The problem is we also
know the teenager way of thinking " Nothing can happen to me
I'm
invincible". Lets
look at how to keep our teenagers safe when their online.
I'm here 24/7, if you
don't understand something or have a question contact me I'll try to
answer your question.
